I recently just backed up some games I had on 8X DVD+R media RIDATA. The problem is the games work sometimes and sometimes are not able to read. Dont now what the problem is. Thinking that playstation 39001 model doesnt run DVD+R well. Should I be using DVD-R? its on magic chip version 5. Please Help. Thank you.

well, the 39001 is a v7 ps2, which means that you dvd+r should work just fine on your ps2. I can run both on my 39001 just fine. Make sure you are using QUALITY media and also make sure you are burning at the lowest speed possible.

I believe it was burnt at 2.4X is that slow enough. That was the slowest the burner could go.

Yes, all orginals run fine on it. Its just these DVD+R ones that are giving trouble. At times it loads but probably about 15% of the time.

PS2 versions 1-11 lasers are NOT affected by the modchip, that is only the newest ver. 12. Chips affecting ps2 lasers in earlier versions is a hoax if you ask me. I have never heard of anybody having laser problems due to a chip install except on the newest version ps2. The Magic V Plus chip husdaman is using has a Multi safe system design which ensures it will not mess with the laser. Why go fliptop? Chips are 100% more convenient so you don't have to mess with the swap magic and action replay crap to play your ps1 and ps2 backups. husdaman, try switching to dvd-r discs, this may solve your problem. Let me know!
