i encoded my dvd using DVD Shrink and it came out to 4.54gigs how can i compress that to fit onto the dvd?

I take it that is the size of the original disc file-on your hard drive.
4.5 gigs won't fit on a standard dvdr disc. 4.4 is about the max,and majority of us set our backup target between 4300-4360 mbs. DVD Shrink should automatically compress it.
You can also click re-author,select main movie only and hit backup.That will reduce the compression.
Just make sure you have it set for automatic compression.
