I used tmpgenc plus version 2.56 to encode an asf file(303 meg)to Mpeg-1 in order to create a Pal VCD.I used the project wizard with a Non Interlaced Video type/Aspect Ratio of 1:1 (VGA) for the source(it was downloaded off the net)...changed the video arrange method to Full screen(keep aspect ratio)in "other settings" on the filter settings page(page 3 of the wizard)and encoded it.The Mpeg file created was approx 1.3 gig,and played perfectly on the computer.I then used the cut/merge facility in MPEG tools(in tmpgenc) to split the file into 2 smaller mpegs(in order to burn to VCD's/back up the new mpegs).Both of these also played perfectly on the computer.I then used Nero Version 5.5 to create the VCD's,but when the VCD's were played on my standalone DVD player,the audio was fine....but the video seems to be glitching/jumping frames,playing "catch up",to the audio (from start to finish....it doesn't get progressively worse as the disc gets furthur into the file).Is there something that I'm missing in the conversion/burn process that I should be doing?I have burned numerous smaller Mpegs/encoded avi files to mpeg(using tmegenc)and created VCD's that ALL play fine on the standalone machine(though,this is the only asf file I've ever converted).I've checked back through postings on the board,and found a few similar references to this problem...but other than burning at the lowest speed(which I do anyway),no one seems to have any suggestions.Any help with this problem,would be VERY gratefully recieved.
