I have been able to get the main movie but when trying to copy the entire DVD, there are two different locations at which AnyDVD/CloneDVD stop - stating that there are bad sector reads. Is this a new form of copy protection? Am I doing something obviously wrong?

Try cleaning the disk, and make sure you have newest version of AnyDVD (just updated)
