I have a version 1.5 xbox. I installed the v1.1 spider chip and flashed it with bios. I need to get a dashboard installed for the new harddrive i want to put in it but, my rom drive doesn't read any of the disks I try putting into it. It is a thompson drive. Tried installing slayer 2.6 and other dashboards but they don't read. Used every kind of CD out there. CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW. Burned w/nero and sonic recorder. X-BOx doesn't read any of them. Am I forgetting to do something? Running out of ideas.

try using Alcohol 120% to burn your image....almost foolproof. And yeah use a media that will work dvd-r's that i know that work are ones like ritek/smartbuy/pine/general/etc,
