V7 Fliptop lid problem

I have just installed my fliptop lid on my v7 and whenever the disc spins it makes a loud whirring noise and wont boot. If i apply pressure to the lid this noise stops and it boots no problem. Has any body else encountered this problem and if so how can i sort it out. Any response will be greatly appreciated.
