Martix Infinity and Summ0ne's Fix (onv12)

I am an experienced modder.
But I seem to have 20% Failure in V12 Mods
The mods that Failed were
1 PSTwo with No fix at all (total 4 mods)
2 Pstwo's with diode fix (total 10 mods)
1 Pstwo with Diode Fix and van Drunnen Fix (total 15 mods)
Talking to other Experienced modders they swear by the
summ0ne's Fix + Matrix infinity Modchip (v1.38+)
(No diode Fix, No van Druunen and No Pic-Fix)

can anyone give me an explination on this fix

thats exactly what im doing modding matrix infinity + summones fix.. summones fix you need just two resistors.. www.ps2scene.com v12.1=1.8kohm v12.2=560ohm resistor best fix out there!

the matrix chips caused a lot of mechacon crashes for us, so we don't swear by them, we go with magic kx+, or for advanced chips dms4 lite & crystal chips.
combine any of those with summ0ne.
My current systems :)

we haven't experienced overheat issues, but for the slim we purely use magic kx+ now.
The major advantages of hdd booting etc are lost on the advance chips.
magic kx+ , boots all ps2 backups, hold reset 1 second will boot your psx backups and dvds, hold reset 2+ sec will boot disabled.
Fairly simple to use, and its known as the safest chip for the slim as well.

i dont get why people don't understand all modchips since magic 3.1 turn off after they do their job :)
if they stayed on games like kingdom hearts etc dont work :) the issues magic 3.0 used to have (gee ive been modding for yrs now , i feel old)
Anyways you have to apply the online patches etc to be able to play them online, as with every other chip.

hi there
does anyone know a good place to get a premodded regular (not slimline) ps2? all the laser failure stuff with the slimlines i've been reading about has me wary. alsew, if i do end up having to get a slimline, do you have any idea what the success rate is with the summ0ne fix?

hey spyman i think that cellexmods doesnt sell premods v12 cuz i went to the web site and they dont have it but i emailed the guy a few tims and he mentioned that it costs 325 cad but i dono where to order a premodded 1 it just sells the chips

sneek i dont think u can play online back up games with a magic kx cuz it doesnt make its self invisible for online play. thus if u were to turn off the modchip, how the hell would u even boot the backup?
think about it.. unlike matrix infinity...it can turn its self off after backup boot.

masoud get your facts straight !,all modchips turn off just like the matrix infinity.
After a modchip boots a game, then go to sleep mode.
its been doing this since magic 3.1 chips era otherwise games like kingdom hearts would freeze.
You need to follow the methods of playing backups online for every type of chip. There is patching involved to play a backup online, even with matrix infinity.
btw sneek, they don't sells premods normally, you need to request one and they can send you an invoice.
Ask them if they can outsource it to me to mod :D, its been a while since theyve given me any work.

Magic KX+ is not laser safe, all chips going in a v12 you should install a fix, if you need all those bells and whistles go with the Matrix Infinity or Crystal Chip, if you dont need them I would still go with one or the other.

definately install the laser fix for precaution, read my earlier post statement.
but to date ive not got a single unit to crash, where ive got dms4 , matrix infinity (especially with one of the firmware versions), and crystal chip to crash.
It could be coincidental, but based on the volume I do, its the safest one for me to use for the slims at least.
The 2nd least one was the DMS4 Lite, only got 1 unit to ever crash. Crystal Chip is pretty good also had maybe 2 systems. Matrix infinity it crashed on 3 of 3 units all done different times, im think theyve updated their firmware since though.
Just my input from personal experience. On all those units the laser was saved though due to the summ0ne fix. And the coils measured the same approx values.
