Ps2 clicking noise and possible scratching

Im having problems reading games from the main ps2 screen loud clicking/scratching sound happenes and now since running my games eventually, it isnt booting certain games, the only disc seems to boot up now is swap magic 2.0.

I recently purchased gt4, and after playing it twice now just dont load and its possible its scratched around the hole of the dvd unless its part of the media unsure but lines pretty consistent, i've seen posts and went on to bvuy laser arm but will this solve the issue?

also anyone know of any installation pics about on the web
