Could anyone please help me out with a Messiah Universal mod chip problem?
I just installed the chip into a GH007 mainboard V3 using 30 AWG kynar wire with thicker wire for Live and Ground.
The console boots to the normal PS2 menu, will play audio CD's and I have one genuine PS1 game to test which plays ok. I have just burnt a PS2 CD game using Alcohol 120 at 4X using the PS2 default settings and tried to run it in the PS2, I get the 'Insert PS2 media' error from the console and have tried all of the messiah boot modes.
How can you tell if the boot modes work and the chip's installed properly?
After installing the chip I had shorted the 12th and 13th pin on the 'SCE' chip which gave a blank screen when switching the machine on. I sorted that out and now I dont know if I just burnt the disk badly or if my chip is actually doing anything!
Any help on the matter would be appreciated as this is my first mod and I know next to nothing about PS2 hacking... I'm very good with the soldering side (apart from the one short circuit!)
