Are thewe good media I just bought some I am a newby. They are tdk 4x dvd+r I used dvd info and dvd identifier. They came up as ricoh r01

You should be ok with those ricohjpn01's. Tdk does use c-magnetics corp to make some of those +4x,those ricoh's should be a lot better.

I have used that same mfg code on: verbatim,maxell,sony,and 1 batch of teons and they all burned and performed flawless.Not a single issue.

Don't know much about transferring all the different formats into dvd,but there are many threads on that subject. Good Luck with those ricoh's.

I have a 50pk of sony 4x dvd+r's that are ricoh's

I've burned 5 of them so far at 8x and 4 at 12x and all seem to be without flaws. I only did a scandisc on one of the 12x burns and it came with 0 errors. All burns play on my standalone. Is this normal for these sony 4x dvd+r's??? I might get more if they keep burning successfully at 12x.

Hello zenarrow, If you have Nero, it may have a disc scanning apps. If you don't,you can download the free version of dvdinfopro here: http://www.dvdinfopro.com

Both programs will tell you if you have read errors on your backups.
