Ok i need help.

I have a 40Gb seagate Hdd. and hd advance 1.0

My friend has a modded ps2 and imported games (NTSC) if i took my hdd to his house an put some of his imported games (NTSC) onto my hdd would i be able to take the hdd back to my house and play the games loaded at his house on my un-modded ps2.

It should work. If not, you can always use your pc and WinHIIP or PS2Handiness.
