I was looking at the tutorial on how to go from DVD to VCD but when i did the DVD2AVI it didnt make an avi file. Also my DVD2Avi looks very diffrent then the one in the tutorial (i ues the first tutorial in the DVD to VCD page) i dont have a lot of the menus that the tutorial has so i was wonderign if someone could help

you should be using tmpgenc to make the video. dvd2avi should be used for making the audio portion and a file with a .d2v extension. the .d2v acts a a frameserver for tmpgenc to make the vcd.. look at the tutorials again.

i did read the tutorial very closely but when i did the thing it didnt create a .wav file to be used in tmpgenc

It won't create a wav file, it will create an ac3. Take this ac3 file and transcode the audio in BeSweet or ac3machine. Then remux in another program. Don't reencode the video and audio at the same time in tmpgenc. Just the video. dvd2avi should give you an avi frameserver file when you press "save project" under file. But don't use this in tmpgenc, only the d2v file.

so what youre saying is a combine al the .ac3 files to make a .wav then i dont out them in the tmpgenc when i put the video in, then when do i do the wav file thing, i dobnt really understand

I Suggest you take a look at my guide, it has been updated to show the latest versions of all programs, so the images should match what you use.

Make sure of two things:
1. Use DECODE audio into WAV, and don't try to create an AC3 track, TMPGEnc will not accept it so well.
2. Make sure you use "Save Project" and NOT "Save AVI" when you use DVD2AVI.
