This is the Famous "DTS experience" trailer -- size (22mb). *the trailer is PAL, not NTSC.

Is there anyway someone could recode it to DD 2.0 or 5.1? I just don't have a DTS decoder and it would be nice to hear the sound.

I'm sure some tech guru on this board is up to the challenge.

Here's the link where I uploaded it to:

http://uploadhut.com/view.php/38967.vob -(right-click save-as).

Once completed, you can upload it to either:

http://uploadhut.com

or

http://rapidshare.de/

My email is: hotset@gmail.com

The reason I made this request is because I didn't see a guide on this site explaining what tool(s) to use to go from DTS to DD.

Thanks in advance to whomever is generous enough to help me out in this regard. =)

I am unfamiler with DvdLab.

Will it recompile the vob file with DD?

It extracts all audio streams from VOB files,
But now i realize.... there's no AC3 in that stream ?
only the DTS stream ?

Bedankt, Thanks,

Correct.. it only has the high bitrate "DTS" stream.

I just need to find a way to recode it to at least DD 2.0 and make a new vob with the same vid, but with the new DD audio.

*I already have ifoedit and know how to use that in order to burn a dvd to disc.

Here's the trailer by the way:

Even Scubapete -- the so-called expert on this site --is having difficulty grasping what to do.

You know, without a dts decoder you won't hear the real soundtrack. Why bother? I do have a dvd with dts that for whatever reason had a AC3 2.0 soundtrack of the openening in question. Not positive, but I think it was predetor or ultimate dvd platinum.(or maybe it was one of the first 2 jurassic parks) I can find out for sure in 10 hrs if you're willing to wait. Like I said, why bother. Get yourself a receiver with a dts decoder, don't kid yourself.

I like the dts opening with the inside of the grand, myself.

Yes, I have that one as well! (the VOB file that is)

Ok, here's the thing. The VOB's (DTS trailers) play fine using PowerDVD 5 on my computer; however, my hometheater setup currently does not have DTS capability. I know this would be defeating the purpose and backsliding, but I just need to recode the VOB to DD so I can hear it on all my systems.

If anyone can help, please post.

I've read on DOOM9 that, Vobrator kan make a DTS-wave
found that using Google, guess you come a long way also,
if you try that also, or check out the Doom9 site directly.

Thanks fugitive, but I really don't have the technical expertise, nor the time to fool around with it. I've tried a lot of guides, but it's no use. I wish there was an easy way to do this.

Ok climbhigh, I went through a shit load of my dts dvds(did I mention I went through a shit load of them) and found one with the dts opening you wanted with a AC3 2.0 soundtrack. Don't know if you own it, but maybe you could rent it. The name of the disc is Metropolis. It is an anime by Osamu Tezuka relesed by tristar/columbia in the us about 3 years ago. I thought that this could be the easiest way to get what you are looking for.

You can use shrink to back this up. I actually compiled a disc a couple of months ago of all the dolby, dts, disney enhanced theatre mix and thx openings which is why I knew I had seen what you were looking for. (Still waiting for a dvd with SDDS opening, maybe with BluRay) Hope this helped.

wolfniggr Thanks for the info!!! At first I thought you were refering to the OLD black and white movie from the 30's, but apparently there's an anime version?? Wow. This would most definitely be the easiest way to obtain it like you said.

I'm familar with shrink and this would be a no brainer for me. Again, thanks and I'm off to Blockbusters!

BTW, go here:

http://www.cinenow.com/us/vobtrailer.php3

All kinds of cool trailers to download, but you probably already have them. Yeah, i'd love to have find a Sony SDDS trailer myself. I've combed the net for one to download and nothing.
