My guess would be no...probably not as good. But I haven't actually tried them. I'd be curious on the media code myself. I've seen them I think at Circuit City.

It has two good reviews out of two reviews at videohelp.com, but according to them it's CMC MAG, so I wouldn't use it if it was the only media on earth.

Don't say cheap those apex players are good. I think Nero has a tool in it to check. Burn one and see how it works let us know.

That is a good price. Media is media. You never know what you are going to get. Man I just sounded like forest Gump. Unless is its Taiyo U. you really are just riding blind. I have to say though TDK is really good.

I recently burned a whole 100 disk spindle of ESA 8x +R that I bought a Circuit City.
I burned (to back up my movie collection) them at 8x on my Pioneer DVR-A08. I used Shink and Decryptor. Every disk seemed to burn perfectly and I've watched most of the backups and they look good on my 32" Toshiba.
I had basically no knowledge about DVD media when I bought these. As I tried to become informed about different media, I felt more and more lucky that I had no problems with this media since they could have been crap. All 100 burned fine and all 100 play fine after about 3 months.
Is this media good? Or did I get lucky? I really don't know. If the price was right I think I would buy it again. However, my second DVD media purchase was Taiyo Yuden from SuperMediaStore.

Have any of you ran those disks trough Disk Identifier to see what code is on them so we all could maybe benefit from those disks http://home.scarlet.be/~ping3828/dvd_identifier.zip
Let us know what they are pleeez :-)
Also if any of you happen to have Nero could ya run this test on one of those burned DVD's
1. Open Nero CD-DVD Speed
2. Click on Extra
3. Select Scan Disc
4. Click in little box that says Surface Scan
5. Then Click on start
You will see where your disk is bad if you have any red thats bad green is good and so on..
Maybe even after that run the File Test step 4 instead of Surface Scan..
Then we would know for sure if they are any good..
Thanks in advance :-)

Naa.... I bet they would not. I bought some of those compusa disks. Well they were ok. I dropped 20 of them. Not hard at all they fell maybe an inch onto a wood service. Keep in mind they were blank. Not one would burn. Oh well, I learn my lesson.

I put that there because of your RUN!!! bbmayo :)
Thought the visual might stick better in our minds when we are tempted to save just a couple of bucks, (the price of a hamburger,) for what we know really is quality media. For that "price of a hamburger difference" we could have in our collection, DVD burns that will always be good!
