Samsung DVD Xbox Laser Assembly Problem...

Okay so I bought a new laser assembly for my xbox Samsung DVD drive. So when I was dissasembly it, I not only discovered that the laser doesn't look like mine but the ribbon cable won't fit in the new one the input slot is 1/3 to small. My old laser is model SOH-DX1 and my new one is SOH-D12 my Xbox DVD drive has a manufacturing date of May 2004. Anyone know why this is? Is there 2 types of Samsung DVD drive's cuz im baffled.

yes i also need one of the SOH-DX1 laser units.. anyone know where i can get one???
