Am running windows xp sp1 on a athlon64 3000+ and have a NEC ND-3520A dvd rewriter drive. Everythings been working fine till today then in the middle of burning a cd I got a failure message and now whenever I put any blank cd's or dvd's into the drive it doesn't recognise them, yet is playing recorded discs fine, have tried going back a day using the restore point deleting the dreiver for the drive and reinstalling, but no joy, any help on this would be majorly appreciated.

Did you stop any services? What prog are you using?

Didn't stop any services, using Nero 6 reloaded, was burning a cd and it failed halfway through, and now the burner won't recognise any cds, whether they're prerecorded or blank, yet is now recognising any dvd's recorded or blank, and will write onto dvd
