Xbox spiderchip hard drive question

I was wondering if I can use a different xbox hard drive with a spiderchip installed on my xbox. Will it work if I flash the chip with a bios or do i have to unlock the hard drive.

Have you already flashed the chip? Does the current HD have a different dash other than the MS dash already running? if it does, then in theory just ftp all your folders to a new hd, then swap the hds and try booting
