Lol yeah Xbox's blow for RPG's. My friends brother is such and idiot - he sold his PS2 to buy a slim (Not the wisest choice especially if its V12) and sold his stereo to buy another one, and now bought 2 xbox's. I was in his room and he has two identical xbox's, and two copies of like 3 different Xbox games. What on earth is the point in wasting so much money on an Xbox! X-aggerated box of xtremely overated games is what i say. Lol but then mind you id get my ear bitten off by all the die hard xbox fans around. I hope none of them are watching.......

Well it's really good for FPS's and action games. Technically it dwarfs the PS2 by a long shot. The X Box has the edge it polygons per second, clock speed, on screen 3D textures, and fps. Halo or Halo 2 would have to to be revamped quite a bit for the PS2 to handle it. There's no way it could handle the 8 player online modes. The lag would be terrible. Also keep in mind the X-Box is made in the US and Mexico. With the Americanization of it's console, it's not surprising it's an Action fan's dream. The PS2 is based outta Japan, where RPG's are immensely popular. I think it's more the companies that produce games for the PS2, rather than anything to do with the system. The X Box could certainly easily handle any RPG the PS2 could throw at it.

Lol yeah it does have the tech edge, but to be honest i dont really notice the difference when playing. Ive clocked halo, and its graphics didnt really impress me as being 2x as good as the PS2. I guess theres gamers who are into japanese style games, like me, who like rpgs and games and then theres the gamer who likes shoot em ups and games like halo. Then theres the blend. I guess if you want FPS's and racing games (Which IMO there are too much of on the Xbox) then you should go xbox. Then again i've only owned one for about 6 months and it was my little brothers, and the only games i liked were Mech Assault, AVP Extinction and Cabelas Dangerous Hunts. I guess im really biased to, because i dont particularly support microsoft in well... anything. I dont think the xbox deserves such big part in the market when it just came in as a newbie when Sony, Nintendo and Sega had invented console video games. Microsoft has too much money. I wonder whether they have enough to buy Sony?? Too bad for them because they wouldnt sell.

Nah I doubt it. Sony's got more than enough money to rival MS. I won't be supporting MS in the future. I currently run XP Homo err Home Edition, but I will have nothing to do with VISTA. I'm going to build my next PC from scratch, and it'll probably be a Mac. There simply isn't enough software support for Linux. I agree with what you said about the X-Box and action games, what do you expect in a country where "Dancing With the Stars and Desperate Housewives" are the top rated shows?

Yeah, i would go mac and maybe have a partition with linux on it if youre into web dev, or one of XP prof. for apps or games that wont work on mac. Dammit there is this stupid mason bee flying around and im going to kill it with a flannel... Brb... Lol its gone. Vista looks like its going to be overly flashy for the home user who likes pretty images and arrghhh damn bee is back!! Lol i broke its wings with a flannel whip attck. Ok. Anyway XP is quite good lookin but vista looks like they just want to make it better lookin and user friendly, i dont really see much improvement on the error-free stability front. Mac is so much more stable because they start from scratch when they make new OS's (usually) whereas microsoft builds on. I mean Windows ME and 2000 arent much better than Win 98 SE, apart from the hardware compatibility in 2000. Lol i have this video of Bill gates presenting windows 95 or 3.11 on some computer at a live show and he gets blue screen error while hes trying to show them something. Hahaha serves him right he would have been embarrassed. He should have looked up and said, they always do that folks, dont worry, they always will. I wonder whether they'll change the critical error screen in vista to get away from the bad rep.

Actually in Windows XP they changed error management by simply making your PC reboot, and then POSSIBLY display an error message on boot up, in order to get away from the "Blue Screen of Death". XBOX's themselves have actually been known to prompt a bluescreen error, cause they run off of some weird mixed around version of Windows.
And about the genres supported by XBOX and PS2, I guess I'm a rare breed. I enjoy almost every type of videogame, save hardcore sims and most sports games. My favorite genres include: fps, RPGs, Adventure, Action, Action-Adventure(XD), racing, fighting, Point and Click Adventures, and any combination.

I read an article awhile back that downloads in VISTA will be encrypted and will force you to go through a third party to decrypt and access them. It was a feature called Palladium or something. That was awhile ago, they may scrapped it by now. It was supposed to be an attempt by MS to crack down on piracy or something. What I download is my business, noone else's. After I reading that article, I said right then there that MS can kiss my ass for all time. This isn't the exact article, but it refers to what I'm talking about. MS sold out to the Movie and Music industry. http://www.hardwareanalysis.com/content/article/1811/

My network settings are fine, just my ISP is shit lol u get higher speeds up in U.S and they are more readily available. If u wanted to get half decent broadband here (like 8mb) with unlimited downloads u'd be looking to empty ur bank account. Having a Mac PC is pretty good, theyre almost as good as windows generally, though less compatibility in some cases. I have Linux on a partition, its pretty good, just can be assed using it. My Windows holds up pretty well so i don't really need to use Linux. Just a waste of space as far as im concerned. Oh yeah the SUSE Linux package comes with soma sorta PS Emulator, but i think you need a plugin for it, some weird tar.gz file or whatever lol.
Legendias on about 6%, havent been downloading it much. But i'm still get shit speeds, it only downloads at about 5KBps max

Yeah Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2 are supposed to be really good. I'm not a huge SW fan, but those would definitely be some the games I got if I ever owned an X-Box. I saw my Mini FAQ, Boobooman. Sulaim reminds me of myself when I first came to AD, so I don't mind him using parts of it. Of course he asked first. Ah shite, I'm ADed out for the day, I'm off to play DQVIII. On a side note, I started using utorrent. I was tired of slow download speeds with Azureus. It's definitely faster so far. It doesn't use much memory either. If you want to try it, get it here: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/p2p_software/p2p_applications/u...

Thanx Tokijin i'll try using that. Its funny that ur still awake. did u have a dream that i posted in and HAD to reply lol.
Im definetly going to try Star Ocean sometime, i can pick one up whenever, since it was released in the UK too.
For the XBox, i wouldnt mind having one still. Theres a couple of games that are pretty good, RPG-wise. But i play non RPG's too lol and the Racing games appeal to me. I think it was Sudeki i was reading about a while back, supposed to be pretty good. THe advantage for non-jap gamers in the XBox is that they get almost all of the games that are released. Not like the PS2 where some of the games are released only in Japan and don't go thru a localization process.
Tokijin said this before i think. If you "Plond" around too much in DQVIII u'll get bored. U have to build levels, but u'l get bored so just go to the next area and on witht the story. Ivejust got the Venus Tear, Hero Lv.22,Jessica LV.19, Angelo Lv.18, Yangus Lv.21. Im faring ok at the moment.

Yeah I'm up all hours of the night. I complain about my download speeds, but at least I can download games. Why is high speed internet so expensive in Australia? I haven't had the motivation to finish DQVIII of late. Too much side stuff. I don't want to miss anything, but I can't keep getting side tracked.

Disney have revealed Haley-Joel Osment has quit as voice actor for Kingdom Hearts II. Fear not though KH Fans, resident Teen Star Aaron Carter has been employed by Buena-Vista to take his place.
Disney also revealed that the U.S Version of Kingdom Hearts II will offer a whole host of goodies not available in the Japanese release. This includes a special edition song added in the game sang by Aaron Carter called "I Love Kairi."
Stay Tuned!

Now that's strange...not for anything but it's not like Osment is a big star who's schedule is being taxed. You'd think he'd appreciate work in a largely awaited/acclaimed videogame as one of the main characters. Makes no difference to me, I liked KHI, but not enough to go goofy over KHII.
Though, I wonder how my friend will take to this news...

I was never one for Pop music either, but that song was released when i was pretty young, and all the girls used to sing it in my class. lol
What i have really heard though is that the Pirates of the Caribbean actors wont be doing the voice acting for their roles in KHII. That sucks big time.

Blo*dy hell boobooman, are you trying to cause pepes epileptic seizures? LOL. Can't believe how far this threads gone since I'v been away! Tokijin cheerz for opening my eyes to the tales series, started playing tales of legendia and have to say it kicks ass big time! The battle and eres system really pays off! Hell I'v not really been a fan of anime except from the legendary dragonball z. (Which I'm downloading all episodes on torents to catch up on the ones I'v missed, not sure how far I'm gonna get though with 1 seeder @ 23gb oh well) :(. Ne wayz what I was saying was the anime in tales of legendia really does the game justice and more than likely will make it a better game as they are not spending all the precious space in cutscenes and more in gameplay. :)

Yeah I'm going to finish DQVIII, but the temptation is there to say the hell with it. I have a lot of other games I want to play. Glad you like the Tales series so far Paul1085. If you're into older games check out Tales of Phantasia for SNES. You can find the rom for it anywhere. It's also availabe in Japanese on the PSX. Please Boobooman, adjust your sig. It's nice, but I can't even type when it's on the screen, the flashing is just too annoying. Maybe you could set it to not flash quite so quickly. Aside from that I like it. Cheers!

Just want to say that final fantasy 10 was a hugely overrated game. I dont know what it is, maybe being he first on ps2 that gets it praise but nothing is special about it and cant match any of the previous installments on playstation. fF7 - Purely wonderful, can go on forever on this game, ff8 great storyline also and beautiful presentation, ff9 was very enjoyable especially sidequests. ff10 mission was very linear, can't explore world map. Sin? what the hell is this?(i know what it is) and all the characters were very boring. Just dont understand how people can rank ff10 near to ff7 or the old ff's and critizise ff8 which was an incredible game, much more substance than ff10. People are getting blinded by fancy graphics these days. When square team sat down and made ff7 u just know every bit energy was put in to making it speial and get the feeling that real hunger is'nt their anymore. Too be honest I dont care of any futuree ff's, ff7 alone just bring back fond memories and a testemant to the late squaresoft and no game will ever recreate what those people at square did at the time.
I fear ff12 will be all looks and no depth. Too much bloody concentration on graphics. Go back to storyline and actual gameplay.
PS3 will also churn sequel after sequel to all games and it doesn't even seem like a game machine more of an etertainment sytem as a whole.
Get back to good innovative games.
Yep ranting, peace.
