I don't have swap magic or any mods. All i have is the ps2. What exactly do i need to be able to read my backups i create in dvd decrypt?

You need a modchip, or boot/swap discs like swapmagic 3.3 with some type of mod that makes the ps2 think it is never opened to do swaps like slimtool or ghostswitch or magicswitch.

Also search b4 you post. There are approximately a zillion threads on this.
