Is this possibble with any editing program ?

I have round 10 sec, black out on concert recording. I have to replace it either with video cut or picture segment, leaving audio as it is. File its Dv -avi.
One option is ripping audio out, editing video, syncronizing both again, right ?
Or is it possibble doing this with mini dv, as a inserting video. does inserted video replaces audio too?

Many greets, andrej

Most video editing programs (except for very basic ones) allow you to do that. Either they allow you to unlink audio and video and then you can combine whatever piece of video with another piece of audio or you use two tracks where you stack the wanted video on top of the black video with the sound and turn down the volume of the stacked video.

So , its possible to do that with Pinnacle studio 8?
Or is that one of the basic ones?
Up to now I made just some simple crossovers and some cuts and stuff....
For any additional info I would be very thankfull.

I don't know, it is no longe sold. Its succesor, Studio 9 can do it. And Adobe Premiere can (of course). Any program that works at least with two tracks can do it.
