I have received many emails about burning dvd using the CD burner. Does this really work? If anyone has used it, please let me know what you think. I would really appreciate any advice on this subject.

That _SPAM_ what virtually everybody receives nowadays is b.s. They just sell you guide and bunch of freeware tools for creating VCD.cfm" class="forum_link" target="_blank">VideoCD backups of your DVDs -- and VCD.cfm" class="forum_link" target="_blank">VideoCD is not DVD even that DVD players do play those. You can obtain all of this from various sites, for example from AfterDawn.com. Just go to our article section and you see DVD to VCD.cfm" class="forum_link" target="_blank">VideoCD guide in there, follow it and you get results. For free.

There is actually a new way to copy DVDs with a cd burner. It is not bull shit, you just have no idea what you talking about.

That's b.s. -- you can NOT read DVDs without using DVD-ROM drive, just because of physics -- CD-ROM and DVD-ROM lasers that read the discs are totally different, on different wavelength, different density, etc and therefor CD-ROM laser can't read DVD discs.

And there are other methods to copy the DVD, you can actually even use DVD format for CDRs, but you can only fit upto 10mins/CD which means appx. 10-20 CDs/movie.
