Is Romeo Mod really needed for V10?

Hi all,

I just got a New V10 Ps2 (GH-026 board). After chipped it perfectly (its booting everything) I was thinking is that "Romeo Mod" really needed for my V10 Ps2? I have measured the tracking coil and focus coil both are 5 ohms as shown at the link below

I am asking earlier cause I dont wanna fry my lense and LA6508 Chip?

Also in that link it said "not all the console thats dying"

The problem only affected a very small percentage of the first version 9 and version 10 consoles released in the UK."


So you guys think I should apply the romeo MoD or any other mod too?

Also please suggest me how to stay safe from that burning issue of lense....

ok I got it Xmodds. But how you actually cut track where marked in red in the link. Also dont I have to lift up the pin 17 on v10 PS2?

you do have to lift the pin up, there is no track to cut ??
Just link the pin you lift to a safe 5v alternative.

Make sure the pad on the board does not connect or touch anything.

Its better to do the mod and be safe, but I know lots of people who don't and just use very high quality TY media.

i got it from modchip.ca and they said to me its good for v10s cause if ur laser burns out u can buy new one in ild versions but laser cause screw up board i say its worth it get the mod
