I ran a search on this particular movie but couldn't find anything that really hit on what I was looking for, which is, with Disney's type of Protection method, is it even possible to use ONLY DVD Decrypter to rip this movie??? I got all the way into VOB#7 and it ground to a halt. Here's the log:

Im dont know what your error is, but I do know that the movie is too big too fit, unless your using dual layered media.
I did it without a problem, with another program, but I have AnyDvd running.

I used DVD Shrink to rip this movie, and then I used Nero to burn it and had no problems at all.

It is a large disc to back-up but if you remove all the extras and stuff, (just leave the main title), you can back-it up and it will be at about 79% compression.

Hope this will help you out!

Make sure disc is as clean as possible and buff it out the best you can. Even the slightest mar can effect the ripping process.

Many people have the same issue, and it was solved by exchanging it. I guess there are a lot of sloppy presses of this title. Though dvd players are more forgiving, trying to rip these can be impossible.

Before exchanging it, try to rip it again(make sure disc is clean first), but this time see if you can set read speed in decrypter to 1x. Worth a try before you decide to exchange it.

Yes I wasn't using Shrink and Nero at first and created TONS of coasters. Ever since I download both programs I have had no problems with movies including with this movie Incredibles.

DVD Decrypter works fine ripping this movie. I then used DVD2One to get just the movie (1 hour 55 minutes)on to a single layer dvd+r.

I've been using dvdshrink first for all bkups and have had 1 problem.

Since I don't use Nero, shrink burns with decrypter if Nero option is unchecked.

The problem I do have is the burned discs(R or +R)wont play on my stand alone dvd player. (Its a cheapie Venturer)
I have to use computer or playstation console to play movies and then they play just fine.

Any ideas to fix this?

Also what is the best way to tranfer vcr to dvd?
What recording program?
I've used ATI recorder(multi media center) but one file (Heavy Metal) was not recognizable to dvdshrink. I had to use dvd swarm to rebuild the movie and then access the file with shrink and then burn to dvd. This worked well enuf, but there must b an easier way....?

Don't know if it will work or if your burner has the option, but if your burner supports bitsetting, you can change the booktype of your +R media to DVD-Rom this will make it more compatible. Like I said, it is not guaranteed to work, but it's worth a try if your burner supports this.

welcome aboard bigbad, i found one hell of a lot of good info/helpful ppl on here when i joined up not so long back; keeps me coming back to help others when i can, and i get to keep up to date with new versions of progs, heads-up on new protections with the latest films etc. i'd recommend joining up to dvd decryptor official forum too, very very good and frequented very often by lightning-uk himself (author of decryptor). now if only those pesky adverts would stop following us around. one of the guys reported it to the mods already. damn annoying.

I simply burned used DVD Shrink and burned to hd, then I used Roxio DVD Creator because for some odd reason DVD Decrypter wouldn't burn it to disc.

The reason you probably couldn't burn with decrypter is because you have roxio installed, too.

wolf, yeah I did notice that when I tried to burn a movie from my HD backed up by dvd shrink it wouldn't let me burn it with DVD Decrypter. Are they incompatible or does DVD Shrink create a different file extension?

I've noticed people I know and on this website have had compatibility issues with roxio. Shrink and Decrypter work great together, but roxio may case problems. If you decide to uninstall roxio, you may need a tool to completely remove it. I will post the tool website if I find it or maybe someone else will help. Good luck.

I mean that I um... bought a legal copy maybe...?(psh, who has ever heard of that)
I now seem to be having problems, the DVD Shrink program keeps saying something about a cyclic error, anyone know what is up with it?

Thats better LOL
As for your crc errors, they usually mean a dirty, scratched, or bad disc. That error will also come up, when you run into some of the newer encryptions that have came out recently.
Try ripping with DVD Decrypter first, or have AnyDVD running in the background, free trial version available.
