make a single good copy.
Since I have my new computer with ATAPI DD DVD Drive, and using Ritek (Ricohjpn) DVD media I cannot make a single good copy. (Using: DVD Decprypter, DVD Shrink & Nero Startsmart.)
Before with my less sophisticated equipment I was able to rip & and copy. I was even able to copy onto Memorex with no trouble.
I do not know where to look for the problem. I would appreciate any hints.

Could be worthwhile checking that you do not have any packet writing software running in the background (e.g. INCD, Roxio etc).

You may want to use Nero Info Tools to check if everthing is hooked up fine on your system.

As you suggested, I downloaded Nero Info Tool.
It looks that my driver does not support DVD+R. They sold me as dual!!!! Which I believe means having both + & -. My DVD blank media is DVD+R.

Are you sure this is a dvd burner, and not a dvd reader and cdrw drive combo drive? I have this combo drive in my laptop, and have to run a usb burner.

Sorry guys, I gave you the wrong info. My driver?s correct info: DVD-R. DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW are supported, DVD-RAM not supported.
It seems to me that the root of my problem is in Nero-settings????

Yes, scf_au I did. Thanks for the suggestion.
The result:
Media Blank DVD+R
4.0x ? 2.4x RICOHJPN R01
Drive: DVD+-R/RW
That is why I thought that the problem could be my Nero's setting.
For testing (Nero program) I tried to copy an old back up of mine with no avail. I am sure there are many better ways for this purpose. I would appreciate if you guys let me know. Again I thank everybody for taking an interest in my predicament.

Additional information: I use Mcafee, spybot, spaywareblaster. Disconnect from internet, do not use any other program during burning.
I could play the result on my computer but not on my DVD player.
Even those DVD-s I am not able to copy that I myself burnt before on my other computer??!!
It is frustrating I bought 50 DVD disk and I am almost out of them. :(
Does these info give any ideas to somebody?

O.K., so let's go back to the basics:
1) anything different between your old and new system (e.g. did you install sp2)?
2) are you able to burn to harddisk?
3) would you care to post a log?
