Everyone seems to be very positive about Taiyo Yuden media.
I have had issues with certain media in my stand alone player that's hooked up to the TV. It will not play Sony discs that I burn on the computer. FujiFilm discs, I find will burn and play well about 95% of the time. But they are expensive to buy at Bestbuy and besides I'd like to get a better success % than what I'm getting.
I'm looking to buy a 100 pack of blank media and see the best deals on the internet.
How can I be sure that Taiyos will play well in my stand alone if I go ahead and buy them?
I'm looking at Rima.com's price which is as follows:
Item No : 1736-100
Capacity : 4.7 GB
Speed : 8X Maximum
Surface : Silver Lacquer (Shiny Silver)
Manufacturer ID : TYG02 or TY02
Features : Thermal printable surface for CD/DVD thermal printers, but not recommended for Rimage Everest
Compatibility : For drives/recorders supporting DVD-R format

(Some drives/recorders may require a firmware update)

Packaging : 100 pcs in two 50-Pack cakeboxes

Is that Manufacturer's ID reliable and a good manufacturer?

Knowing little about media I would like some feedback on the above media, and some thoughts on how it will perform in my player.

What I'm wondering is, is the product that I mention above, the media that so many people are talking about and are the odds good that it will it play reliably in most players?
It has little to do with cost, although I don't want to spend $50 and find that it's not either the high quality Taiyo Yuden, or that it won't play in my player.

Here's the media all the talk was about.

BTW, I bought these disks and have not had one problem. They are genuine TY disks although some on here still say they aren't.

As to if they will work on your player, I couldn't say.

I use those discs too, they I.D.as ty, and burn clean, and error free, so thats good enough for me.I think one person, said they werent the real deal, and that spread like wild fire.
