Hello All,

Is there a quick way of checking a blank DVD for imperfections before you use it. I know you can use Nero toolkit, but that can take a while to test before you use it. Is it possible to quickly look at the burning side and see imperfections by noticing how light reflects off it. I have a black disc and on one part of the DVD the light reflects differently than the rest of the disc. Does this make a difference???

Thanks

You can only spot really gross defects visually, and these would only be common in very poor quality media. The subtle dye differences between high quality and mediocre media unfortunately do not show up visibly.
