Matrix Infinity config problems!

hey,
i installed the matrix infinity blue dot in a ps2 v10, and when i boot up an original ps2 game, it shows the infinity v1.39, so i know that it's properly installed, but i can't get into the config screen.... i'm wondering if it's because i'm using a ps1 controller right now? any help would be greatly appreciated!

2nd problem, the ps2 plays original games, but not backups... keeps giving me the red screen..... what have i done wrong?!?!

Just installed a Matrix Infinity chip a few weeks ago and I had the same problem. Not sure about your first problem but I would give a ps2 controller a try because the first time i installed my chip I could get to the config screen but I couldn't play backups.
I reinstalled the chip and shortened up all the wires and everything works great now.

i re installed the chip with shorter wires, and now the ps2 doesn't work at all.... and i'm using Nero to burn the backups

DBZB126 I normally use Maxell ot Imation (seem to work fine) and usually burn with lcohol or Nero.
