DMS3 boots everything except PS2 backups...

Everything boots up: PSX originals/backups, DVD movies,& PS2 originals only.

The PS2 backups won't boot up at all, DVD & CD. It shows the RSOD - "Red screen of death"

Any ideas?

have you used swap magic with it?
Have you checked for a toxicOS chip flash?

Not sure but those are just a few ideas.
I have a DMS4 Pro and i know that without the ToxicOS for it i would need swap magic to play my PS2 back ups.
But with it, it will load them up just like originals with no swap disc.
Not sure about the DMS3 but i can't seem to find a Bios download for it on the net anywhere.

There are no ToxicOS for the DMS3, only DMS4. I do not use Swap Magic.

Am I better off getting a new chip then if there are not any much of help of fixing this problem?

check your bios points, and O wire, make sure O is as short as possible. If that doesnt work check your cd/dvd points.
