HELP!! Backing up SLUGFEST LOADED and BURNOUT 3

it coppied fine, it loads on the ps2 V4, and then it says to push start button , but When I push it, it doesn't do anything?? it like the controler is not working. Help!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't have a V$, but i know my back up of Burnout 3 works fine on my V7 and Slim PSTwo.
Does the controller work fine with outher games?
Also does it do it on back up or the original for Burnout 3?

it does it in both, I just tried it. Does it matter if the controler is ps1 or not?? My controlers are from my old ps1
