Hi all,

After I bought a new computer recently, I installed DivX 5.2.1 on it to be able to watch my movies, like I had on my old computer. To my surprise, every 5-10 minutes during playback the movies speed up to about double speed for approximately half a second, then continue normally for about 5-10 minutes, then it happens again. In an attempt to solve this problem, I uninstalled all codecs and wanted to start over with installing. But in spite of DivX being uninstalled (GSpot says "codec NOT installed" when I drag and drop a movie in it, also the DivX logo does not appear when I start a movie) I discovered that the movies play anyway! GSpot tells me that "DirectShow claims to be able to play the file" and that the video decoder used is an "unspecified VFW codec". This smells of Microsoft, but I don't understand why the movies play without the DivX codec. And more importantly, the "speed up" problem is still there. Can anoyone help? Thanks.
