What CD / DVD and Programme do I need?

Hello,
I have an PS2 V9 and Flip top cover + SMD V3.3. Now i want to backup my original games / or burn games that are on my HDD(image/iso).
- Which programme do i need?
- Which DVD / CD's work for me?
(which brand works on my PS2 -/+ sony, fuji etc.)
My DVD burner: Nec 2510A

Sorry for the newbie question but I would really appreciate it if someone took the time to awnser

I have the same NEC burner as you, I use Maxell- I have had success with + and - media.

You need DVD Decrypter

and Nero burning rom trial edition.

(You just need Nero installed, you will use DVD Decrypter to burn also)

Insert disk; open DVD decrypter
Go to MODE>ISO>READ
wait for it to copy to your hd
then..MODE>ISO>WRITE
(select the .iso file that you just copied)

This method works for most games, I usually do a search for the game on these forums before I burn, so you can tell if it's a rare game that needs patched or something before burning.

There are other programs that work also, but I have had good success with this setup. Hope this helps a little

Thanx for the fast reply, I'm going to try the memorex DVD's. Is the Nec2510A a bit reliable? Does it burn many brands? And what about the V9 does it 'swallow' many brands?

The NEC is great. I have absolutely no complaints. I've probably burnt 500 dvd's with it so far and have had relatively no problems using any brand media.

For games, all I can say is stay away from the cheap stuff (I started out with Teon brand dvd-r's, which work great for movies, but suck with games).

Just experiment a little with media to find what your ps2 likes.
