I've got a Xbox v1.6 and was looking for a mod chip that is solderless. Does one exist yet for this version? I'd really preferr not to have to do any soldering. Anyone got any ideas. Thanks

Dude. The soldering that you have to do isn't that hard. My pregnant wife was able to install a mod chip. And she's crap with tools.
Anyway. Just get an Xecuter 3CE. They are pretty damn reliable

Get the SPICE adapter. It's solderless on v1.6. Here is the list of choice of solderless modchips:
1) Xenium SPICE
2) SmartXX w/spider16
3) SmartXX LT OPX
4) Spider Chip

Pricewise, SmartXX LT OPX is the cheapest solution and great feature as well. Spider Chip is second on the price list but low in feature.

If you are not comfortable with soldering, then I would not suggest doing it. If you had any other version besides a 1.6, I would say go for it, it's easy, but the 1.6 is a little more difficult seeing that you have an extra 4-5 wires to solder.

To bad you can't buy the XBIT solderless chip, that is only for 1.5 and below.

You can buy solderless chips at many places, take your pick... (I prefer modchipman, he is the cheapest)!

Well I actually ordered the Xecuter 3. I read through the installation guide and I can solder, I guess I was just looking for the easy way out. Thanks for the replies and suggestions.
