Hi, I am new to the group so apologies if this has already been asked, but I couldn't find a thread on it.

I have just purchased a 6700 and have found that when watching divx films on it there is a lot of pixelating on the screen. I can watch the samne films on my desktop without the problem.

Also on a couple the sound is out of sync and again this is not the case on the computer.

I have upgraded to yamada latest firmware but this hasn't assisted. Anyone got any ideas as it's a right pain.

Took this from a different site, might help...

I purchased this for playing Divx and it plays any divx burned as a data disc, but some were jerky, i found out that it was the chipset that couldnt handle packed bitstream. So to cure this download this program and edit your divx movie ie.
http://www.moitah.net/download/latest/MPEG4Modifier.zip
open the file,
if the packed bitstream box is ticked, click on unpack, then click on the divx line (usually something like DivX999b000p )
click on edit, and change the p to an n (this doesn\'t make any difference what you change it to)
It nows plays all divx movies a treat.

Following on from my original query, i have used the mpeg convertor but this hasn't helped. It appears that the 6700 has a problem playing older mpeg layer 3 files as the layer 4 ones work okay along with most AVI files.
Is there a way of changin mpeg3 files?

To convert mpeg 3 to mpeg 4 you will have to reencode it.

Try mencoder from www.mplayerhq.hu
