Problem with gameshark codes with DUO 2 SE

I got his chip in my ps2 yesterday and I have gameshark 2 v3, but when I select start game the tray closes with my backup and then it comes up saying failing in loading the game. On the DUO 2 SE site it says that it works with gameshark and action replay, I was wondering if anyone can help me with this.
