i have a packard bell k5285 notebook with a toshiba sd r6112 16x dvd - r writer, i am having allsorts of problems regarding blank dvd discs, i have read about firmware updates but dont really understand it can anyone recommend blank media which will work, any help would be greatly appreciated as i hate shelling out money on discs that wont burn in my writer,just bought 2 packs of 25 discs that my writer wont even recognise

Pretty much you have many options to choose from.

But take a look around.

You might try the TY media, but that is JUST a suggestion.

thanks venom its beginning to p%*s me off, evry pack i have bought recently have all been binned, surely there must be some discs that will work( i hope )

LOL! I know...it can get pretty frustrating.

But do a little searching and read what everyone says.

If anything, just buy like a single disc and try it out, cause you might just work for you.

If you're able to find decent [from reliable source] Taiyo Yuden blank media ... I'm sure you will be impressed - as they're 1st class disc(s)
