Hi all, just recently purchased this drive and found this forum, it has been very helpful. As the title says, I have the DVR-105 and a box of Optodisc Gold dvd-r's. Before I got these in the mail, I was using the dvd-rw that came with it and everything was working great. I got the disc's and tried to burn the same movie I practiced with. Well the first burn failed, the second completed but could not play the whole movie without crashing after chapter 22 0f 28. I did some reading and found the version of Nero I was using had problems so I went back to 5.5.9.17 and tried again. this time the burn worked and played the whole movie.

I tried the disc in my Pioneer dvd changer, PS2 and Audiovox mobile dvd and it failed in the PS2. What gets me is that one of the failed disc's worked in the PS2 but not the mobile dvd player!

Did I get bad media or did I just buy a bum brand and waste $50? I really want to find a consistent media so I can utilize this drive. Any help would be great,

Thanks!

I returned the Opto's and ordered some Ritek 4x certified media. In the mean time I bought locally some Memorex 2x media and it works great. All my players can play the movie fine. No more cheapo media for me. Lesson learned.

qazpol, how did you return the discs if some of them had already been used? Also, where did you get them? Thanks.
