I have been following the instructions on 'Copy your DVD into DivX5 format - Guide for 16:9 anamorphic movies' from this site and have all the software required to do this.
I completed everything with no problems but the finished product seems to run in slow motion and not in sync with the audio. Would you know why this is happening?

Also this might be a silly question but when you finish the rip using Virtualdub, are you supposed to have the firstpass and secondpass files still on the hard drive or are they supposed to be merged into one file?

1st pass files are useless. Try tweaking your playback settings in DivX5 codec, if that solves your slo-mo problem.

cool. thanks dRD, I'll try that. But could you please tell me the actual menu settings I will have to adjust in the Divx5 codec because I checked it out and Im not sure where the playback settings are to tweak.

I have a DVD to Divx file I made using Divx 4.12. After I installed Divx 5, the video was slow and the audio was out of synch. I uninstalled 5 and reinstalled 4.12 and it was OK again. I would also be interested in this Divx 5 tweak.

Guess I should pay more attention to the forums before posting a question.

I have the same problem.

I was doing all the rest of the process and when it was time to compress DivX5 was realesed, so I used it instead.
When the movie was doneit was all in slow-motion and had an really low volume level.

I would really like to know what is wrong opposed to experimenting with different settings, the process took me about 48 hours, and that´s with my HD de-fragmented just before I started the process.

If anyone has an idea on how to fix this please reply.
