I posted on the ps2 thread but did not realize it was not about ps1.
My question is "What is the best steps to burning PS1 back-ups for replay on the PS1. I have Alcohol 120, Nero, and Clonecd. I either have a bad serial port mod or am just getting really good at coasters.
Can anyone shed some light??

I suggest Clone CD, because it allows you to copy your ps1 games at 1x, whereas Nero and Alcohol 120 do not. Here is a guide from http://www.geocities.com/modchipzone/

Clone CD v4.x.x.x

Getting the ISO onto your computer

1) Put in your ps1 disc into the DVD writer.

2) Open up Clone CD and click the "Read to Image File" button on the left hand side.

3) Select the DVD or CD drive your Ps1 disc is in and click "Next"

4) Click "Game CD" then "Next"

5) Browse and pick where you want to put the image file and then click "Ok"

6) The image file will then be created along with a .sub and .ccd file.

Writing the ISO to a disc

1) Go back or open up Clone CD and click the "Write From Image File" button.

2) Browse and find the .ccd file that you created and double click it, click "Next"

3) Choose the DVD or CD rom drive your blank CD is in and click "Next"

4) On this screen make sure the "Write Speed" is set to 1x and make sure the "Game" icon is chosen, click "Ok" and that's it!
