I brought a DVD into work to copy & in my hurry didn't use the directions set forth in the dvd to dvd-r guide:

http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/small_dvd_2_dvdr.cfm

Basically, instead of making the iso file, I just coppied all of the files (2 .lay files, 6 .bup files, 6 ifo files, & 14 vob files) onto my HD.

I was hoping to burn the dvd before I go home for the weekend, & was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction, or if I just have to bring the original back in & do it "the right way".

I was going to try copying all of the bup, ifo, & vob files into the video_ts directory & the 2 lay files into the root, but I don't really want to "make a coaster", as I don't have alot of blank media around.

Thanks,
Jakazz

Edit: I tried searching the forums & guides, but was unable to find any usable awnsers, or at least any my limited knowledge allowed me to understand...

Do I LOOK like I know what I'm doing?

you will probably have to use shrink so it will fit on a dvd, those files should open fine with shrink and the burn with nero

Since the files were less than 4.1 gb, there was no need to use shrink.

Well, at the risk of "making a coaster" I wrote the dvd, with the files in the directories as listed above & all functions seemed to work with no issues. I don't know if I needed the two lay files in the root directory or not, but they're there & it works fine.

Next time I'll be sure to create the iso file to simplify things.

When did DVD Decrypter 6.5.2.0 come out? I must've missed that update...

Glad to see you figured it out though. And yes, ISO mode would be simpler.

That I am aware of, but is it actually better?

I'm always a bit sceptical of new software versions, different doesn't always mean better, & better doesn't always have to mean different.

I haven't had a problem with it yet, but I've only used it once so far.
