Can someone give me the steps of what i should do to backup a PS2 game w/ Game Cloner or DVD Decrypter?

Using DVD Decrypter
1. Start DVD Decrypter
2. Select Mode, go down to ISO Read
3. Select your Reader & Destination
4. ?Decrypt? the ISO Image to the Hard Drive
5. Wait for the ISO Image to be made
6. Select Mode, go down to ISO Write
7. Select the ISO Image file you made, click ?Open?
8. Select your Burner, Write speed & Burn the ISO
Use quality media, and Burn at 2x. speed.
you will need a modchip or bootdisks to play backups.

Basically for the majority of games, yes it is.
*Unless you want to use the online feature, wherein you would need to extract the dnas id from the original disc and insert it into the .iso file before burning it.
OR, if it's one of the select few that need to be rebuilt first.

So after doing all the steps Jizmak gave me.......i should be able to play the backup game right?

As long as you have a modchip or swapmagic disks yes.

I can't play the game even after following all those steps and using my modchip. I think it doesn't work because I put the iso image onto a dvd +rw disc. IS that y it wont work?

Yes, i think so
I do not think DVD-RW discs work
Try some DVD-R

dont just get any dvd-rs get the good ones like ty or ritek
media is a big deal when backing up games

and look at the success rate, Taiyo Yuden and Ritek G05 are the best, this is just from me reading other threads...
I used Maxell before and i only had like a 15% success rate
Now that i use Taiyo Yuden i have a 100% success rate
Media is a big deal when backing up games

Ok, here is something i would really like to know.
I never see Philips discs on a media list.
But i read somewhere that they were made by Mitsubishi Chemicals which is a top brand.
I have a 100% success rate with the Philips 8X DVD-R discs.
Is there any way to confirm this?

Try using a dvd info program, it tells u everything about the dvd

I only use Philips discs. I do the 4x max +r's and they are perfect. :)
