My plan is to copy TV shows to DVD and then edit out the commercials. I can't imagine this is very difficult, but I don't know where to start. I've ripped the DVD using Mac the Ripper, but I don't know what program to use to edit out the commercials. Can anyone offer some advise?
Sounds like you want to just record a show off your tv and cut out the commercials. This could be done with imovie, final cut or premier.
You'd need something to get the video INTO your computer. Then you'd edit. Then you'd convert to mpeg2 (m2v). Then you'd "author" it with dvdstudio pro, idvd or toast.
I would expect 1 hour of total video time to take between 5-10 hours to do on a moderately fast machine.
That's right, I'm attempting to edit out the commercials. I've imported a .dv file that I made from the ripped dvd. I have dvdstudio and final cut, but haven't been able to figure out how to edit out the commercials. Are there any guides on how to do this? I have iMovie too, but had no luck on that either.
I record tv shows on dvd, then I would like to edit the commercials out, then put them back on dvd so I can play them on my dvd player. I have mpeg video wizard, but it seems it doesn't record the audio. When I do get audio, it is like it is echoing. I can't seem to make the mpeg record back to dvd using Nero or ulead movie factory. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you
OOPS, sorry didn't realize I was on the mac user side.
Thanks for the welcome though.
Sorry for the time anyone has spent on this problem for me.
