When burning a dvd, whats the limit on compression before you start to lose quality that is noticeable??

that all depends on a few things (person watching, tv type and size, type of movie etc etc)
theres no hard and fast answer, what looks fine on a 38cm crt will look crap on a 3m lcd projector, action movies are more likely to suffer than cartoons, i may have different ideas on acceptable quality to you

In general with shrink i try and keep compression around 20% or less and always deep analysis, with CCE and the like you can probably go a bit more

To get compression down either rip to two discs, or, remove everything bar the main movie and 1 soundstream
