Ok my NEC 3502a in an external box works perfectly well on my office PC when linked up via Firewire.
When its used on my home PC, whether usb2 or case fitted on the ide bus, it won't work. The problem is chiefly with playback I've tried the 2 dvds that I own neither play under WMP9/10 only one plays under PowerDVD. I can make copies using CloneDVD2 or DVDshrink which play in the Office but still won't playback in the Home PC. On the Home PC the dvd will record and play regular audio cds fine
Obviously something's fundamentally wrong or missing in the dvd playback system of the Home PC; but what? and how do I fix it?

Please help me as its doin' my 'ed in. :-)
