Hello this might be the 1 which can stump you all, and i wish it can help.

The Story- My Mate used a DVD Recorded to copy a DVD To Another DVD, it has some basketball footage on it

The Problem- This is just a normal dvd , though it does not play in my DVD Player, but it can play in others, I can watch the footage on my computer though I cant rip the footage as when i try to explore the CD it says it is blank and when i explore the CD, there is nothing on there. I use Nero Showtime and im able to watch the DVD on the computer through my DVD Burner/Player, though i Cant rip it , this is a big problem since i want to put it on my computer. Please help, Thank you

I hope you can understand this

Hey Tallguy69,

It sounds like the dvd player you are using, might not support that type of dvd media you are using. That might be the reason as to why it won't play in that one, but in others.

As far as ripping the dvd, what programs have you used besides Nero Showtime?

;)

Hey...try using this combination:

DVD Decrypter or AnyDVD
DVD Shrink
and lastly, Nero

You can also use these guides here, that are great and were created by another forum member:

Hope this helps!

hope to clarify here
i have no other problem burning any other dvds, i use AnyDVD and Nero recode software its fine there. Though this is just a personal dvd which is not a movie, it was burnt using a dvd recorder which taped some basketball games! Now when i open DVD Decrypter and do that, and put in my dvd, there is nothing there, there is .mov or .VOB files its just says blank, and at the bottom it says Disc is Empty, which is impossible as I used it to watch the footage which is on it, its just really weird that even when i use Windows Explorer on the Cd there is nothing there. Ive also got a Virtual Drive, can that affect anything? Though its just weird how when i use DVD Decrypter or any other software it shows there is no files on the DVD when there is, Please Help

If the disk was made on a DVD recorder, has it been finalized?

Was the disk created in VR mode or Video mode? Most DVD ROMs aren't going to be able to read disks in VR mode.

ok it is a proper dvd
ok this may be of some help
i used dvd x copy platinum and then used dvd x rescue
ok, now this software would then search the dvd, and there is 6 Unknown Data Tracks , though when i try and copy them, it wont let me either. These data tracks vary from number of blocks from 144 blocks to 999792 blocks. Does this help??

hmmmmm I had a big post and I erased it LOL
Ok,I use ulead dvd movie factory, but you can use nero vision express.
Open NVE, click on make dvd/dvd video/import from the drive your disc is in,a window should popup with the files hightlighted, then click ok.Like I said I havent done this with NVE but it can be done.
If you have dvd ulead movie factory, just click copy/fit to disc, choose your drive, and destination, and click, copy.
good luck

Well if your drives arent recognizing the disc, theres not alot you can do,that I know.

You could try downloading a trial version of ulead dvd movie factory.I use this all the time,I record dvdrw's on my standalone recorder in the vr mode,so I can delete out comercial etc, then transfer it on a dvdr in the video mode.

If this doesnt work,im out of ideas..sorry.
