I love audio. I have a very nice sound system, and I want some input on how to create the best media center possible. I used to own a Marantz DV4100P dvd/cd player, but I gave it to my father because his broke during Christmas. I am going to purchase a new computer sometime very soon and I wondering if I got very nice video and sound cards if it would match the quality of a Hi-fi dvd player/cd player (>500$). If I used a computer I wouldn't have to worry as much about new technologies making obsolete current technologies, such as a new compression format better than mp3. I could also play movies encoded in divx, exc. Quality is most important, though. Which situation would offer the best quality?
