What is an aspi Adapter and where can I get one to be able to start ripping a dvd

I´m not sure if this will help but...

I had some OS trouble recently, afterwards, nero5 didn´t regocnize my CD-RW, gave an Error: ASPI layer missing-message(or something) at start-up. I went to System under the control panel and removed the burner from the OS, then restarted the PC and after that it worked. Worth a try.

Nah. You _need_ ASPI for multiple purposes, so it is wise to install it. Download the official Adaptec pack from here:

Hi there,

I have the same problem that the other user had , which is Win-Aspi file can't be found at Nero start-up. I installed adaptec aspi v4.70 under both C:\ and Nero, but the Win-aspi file missing message still pops up. I also tried forceaspi software, but it still doesn't work. I was wondering if there is a specific folder I should unzip the files to. If not, please tell me what I should do.

Only advice I can offer is the one that helped me. On the Lite-On(burner-brand) discussionforums someone told me to search the net for an ASPI-layer, but I was able to fix it myself.
