HELP - My magic kx+ doesn't play PAL

I have an north american PS2 slim (magic kx) + NTSC TV.

the modchip is supposed to play PAL games as stated on websites.

However, when I trying to play PAL games, the screen goes black and white. is it possible that I got a fake chip?

no its a legit chip, PAL on an NTSC tv will be black and white , it works on a different frequency !

you need to either get an adapter that will change the signal to NTSC, or patch the PAL game to be NTSC mode.
search the forums you will find it there is a nice tutorial on it somewhere. PAL to ntsc

it is region free, if your tv doesnt support a pal signal thats not their fault, if you use it on a pal tv it will work !!

some chips like DMS4 have a built in code to force ntsc signal.

anyways the signal converter is $10, or just patch your games its easy.

you just don't understand the terms before you buy, thats all. its not misleading, but if you dont do your research before hand.

look up search, convert pal to ntsc to learn how to easily patch games.
