Hi all
I got a a new DVD player (LG dv6842p)in fact its so new that I cant even tell which formats it supports on vcdhelp.com (DVD Players VCD,SVCD,CD-R/W,DVD±R/W Compatibility list)
http://www.vcdhelp.com/dvdplayers they just don?t have it on there list yet.
Never mind that (well I still got the manual) and unfortunately it doesn?t support
SVCD format .
Now I tried the "VCD header trick" mentioned here:
http://www.geocities.com/newestmoviesencode/dvdvcd several times actually (not with same movie file (maybe corrupted) , different wav formats 44-48khz (encoded with virtual dub no error message), different burners (I got 2 burners, thought I could tell if it?s a burning error) The result was that I could
see the video on my TV but it has kind of slow motion to it, its not running good and the sound kind of stammers , goes up and down (but no sync problem)
now obviously I tricked my DVD to play it cause I can see it on TV screen
but why does it have this crapy quality?
Any ideas or suggestions?
Now in some of my tryings to do the "VCD header trick" when I'm multiplexing the
SVCD file I created in TMPGnc to MPG-1 Video-CD I get this message at the end of the process "Warning! 349624 a packets cause buffer underflow. The mpeg file might cause error when it played" although I've tested the SVCD and it looks fine
What am I doing wrong to get this message? And should I try and burn it anyway?
I wasted a lot of time and empty media on those tryings so please help me out here if u can.
another one last thing here, as i read in
FAQ: Burning AVI to VCD or SVCD with Nero
(yes im using Nero) on this site
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/4077 it saies: "Simple answer: don't.
Longer answer: Nero's internal routines that allow converting AVIs to VideoCD or SuperVCD format (SVCD "plugin" is commercial), suck. Big time. "
all of that is great but why isnt there another alternative mentioned?
if nero sucks so badly which other soft can make it happen? (something with better internal routines ????)
and on "Creating VideoCDs using Nero - Burning Rom" article
http://www.afterdawn.com/articles/archive/nero_videocd_guide.cfm the line: " limit the write speed to 4x or less "
didnt help me..
It must be a total pain in the arse when it don't go right. I have to agree with Memphist. I isn't always easy getting the right dvd player, but I made damn sure mine would play anything I can put on a disc. I got it from eBay.
