My burning results are in black and white!!!

I currently have Nero 6. I have downloaded videos from Bearshare and tried to burn them. In the menu for Nero I chose (video) not (supervideo) and they turned out in black and white. Everything else was fine.
Did I do somehting wrong or did I miss doing something specific in the Nero menu before burning. Also I am using an external drive re-writable and CDRs.
Please help!!!
If there is a specific way to do it please describe it step by step. Thank-you.
