Just bought new sony D26A burner, will burn Datastream +RW using shrink/nero but when +R inserted the all the burn speeds disappear and the box for the speeds is empty. This happens in Roxio6 and Nero?. Reinsert a +RW, and everything is OK all the speeds reappear.

It sounds like a firmare update may have to be performed. I couldn't locate that sony burner # of yours. Try checking sony's main website for an update. You'll also want to know what your present firmware version is. Use Nero infotool:
Nero toolkit/ infotool/click drive tab. That will show your firmware version and also exact burner Model. Place one of those tdk's in the drive,use nero's info tool/click on DISC tab-see if this is grayed out also.If it isn't grayed out,look for manufacturer code like cmc-mag Ae01.

Nero says will read and burn +R, -R, +RW, -RW
Sony site hasn't got a clue what this drive is? Its got sony all over it?
+R TDK disk when analysed by Nero says:-
Type = Blank DVD+R
extended info = 4.378GB
Tracks = n/a
capacity = N/A
sessions = N/A
contents = N/A and no other info at all?.
I have some TDK 2.4x that I bought more than a year ago.I think the MID was TDKGO1 or something to that effect,and the crc scans on these, are filled with errors.
I stay away from TDK's now.
